This class is an Intensive Study program with practical hands on involvement, 8 am to 5 pm, that will start:
October 25, 2025 and will end on November 7, 2025. All class sessions and tests will be held at Northstar in Truckee, CA.
This is a daily class over a 2 week period, and requires extensive prework. Due to this being a condensed and intensive class, we are unable to accommodate alternative schedules or missed class sessions.
Please see the syllabus link below for the scheduled days of participation and what is covered each day. Passing the written exam and practical exam is required for successful completion of this course.
This class will be open for pre-registration on 7/1 for all participants in the Tahoe Area. We are not accepting applicants outside of the Far West Division.
Patrol candidates who are coming to Northstar will have 1st priority, but must register.
Initial registration will be limited to 15 (Northstar Volunteer and Non-Northstar candidates). Any remaining spots will be updated as of 9/1.
In order to join the class , you must already have a confirmed candidate slot at a patrol for the upcoming season. This will be checked and verified prior to enrollment.
The course will be largely "hands on." Each session will have three parts:
1st A brief lecture focusing on specific topics of the OEC book.
2nd Demonstration and training of new skills to be learned.
3rd Practice scenarios.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
